Our research work can be roughly categorized into the following four areas:

• 新穎地理空間資訊架構與服務: It's a collaboration research work for geospatial information science in Academia Sinica.

• Functional Programming : It cannot be emphasized enough that both Tyng-Ruey and Shin-Cheng are raised as functional programmers, though they differs in their native languages (ML for one but Haskell for the other).

• XML與網路技術: XML and related standards (err, W3C recommendations) are our daily working languages! We are much experienced in using open-sourced software tools building integreated Web-based systems.

• 開放地理空間資訊處理: Be them topographic maps or socioeconomic maps, GML or SVG, we have done them all! We are into collaborative geospatial mapping now.

• 2008 Summer School on Logic Language and Computation: We are new in this, but wish to make some difference.

• Social Implications of Information Technologies: We care a lot about inadvertent social impact of information technologies.

• 記號學與資訊科學:: We are interested in reasoning of inter-relationship interpretation between humans, information, and machines through the sense of sign theory.
